Rum Jello Shooters

Not as many people are familiar with rum jello shooters, but don't let their lack of creativity get in your way! Rum mixes well with jello flavors like lime, strawberry, pineapple, and pina colada - all of these flavors do indeed exist although some may be more difficult to find.
If you are feeling more creative, feel free to experiment with other flavors of rum - Banana rum combines well with strawberry jello, coconut rum goes great with pineapple or other berry blends. You might also want to experiment with dark, light, and spiced rum.

How to make Rum Jello Shooters in Cups
Start by pouring 1 cup of boiling water into a large glass measuring cup. Dissolve a package of jello for about 2 minutes. Add 5 oz of Rum and 3 oz of cold water and stir well. Cool until the liquid is about room temperature (so that you don't melt your cups). Then, pour the liquid into individual jello shot cups and chill until firm. This recipe makes about 16 shots - adjust as needed for your party. For more notes from Jello Diva, see How to Make Jello Shots. Enjoy responsibly with friends! |
