Making jello shots in cups is probably the most traditional way to make and serve jello shots. Cups make shots easy to transport and easy to store. The first step is to select one of the many jello shot recipes available or take the plunge and make your own recipe.

If you're making your own recipe, you're going to start by boiling 1 cup of water and using it to dissolve a single pack of jello (3 oz size). If you have one, use a 4 or 8 cup glass measure to combine these ingredients - it will make it easier to pour the jello into cups later on.
Next, add 1 cup of cold liquid - this is where your liquor of choice comes in. The most common liquor used is vodka because it works with any flavor of jello you'd like, but don't let that stop you from experimenting with others. If you are using a stronger liquor, I would recommend using a 1/2 cup of liquor and 1/2 cup of water. Likewise, if you are using a liquor with a lower alcohol content, you may want to use a full cup with no extra water. Stir well.
Now, pour the jello into individual jello shot cups. Place the full cups on cooking sheets or in baking pans - it's usually eaiser to fit a few more cups on baking sheets that don't have sides, but you risk spilling your jello. Slide the sheets into the fridge and let them set. Because the jello is in individual cups, it probably will not take the full 4 hours to set.
Depending on your refridgerator situation, you may want to put the lids on your containers before or after your jello sets. If you don't have a lot of space in your fridge, the lids will let you stack them up.
