Jello Shots and Shooters

Jello Shot Resources

Posted on June 7, 2009

When it comes to jello shot resources, as the Jello Diva, I am in the process of building what I hope will be the best resource out there. But I don't want you to take my word for it - there are a few other honorable mentions that are worth checking out when it comes to books and websites.

Additionally, I've compiled a list of suppliers, both online and off, for things like jello shot cups, syringes, molds and more. If there's something else you're looking for, just let me know.

Books

Jiggelo: Inventive Gelatin Shots for Creative Imbibers by Mary Breidenbach, Barret J. Calhoon, and Sharon L. Calhoon

The recipes in this book are definitely among the most sophisticated, and maybe even the most creative, that I've encountered. The authors definitely have a sense of humor and the illustrations are definitely nostolgic.

While many of the recipes are fairly straightforward, there are several that should only be attempted by those who consider themselves advanced jello shot chefs.

Party Shots: Recipes for Jiggle-iscious Fun by Mittie Hellmich

This tiny text offers quite a few recipes for jello shots grouped by theme. The illustrations are interesting, if not mildly amusing, and many of the ingredients in the recipes are relatively easy to find, with the exception of edible insects (not a garnish that I would personally recommend!)

Your Complete Guide to Jello Shots by Aaron Wright

This book probably has the most recipes and is fairly straightforward listing the ingredients required and some basic instructions. Organized by main alcoholic ingredient, this book is perfect for readers who are looking for a no nonsense recipe reference.

Websites

My Science Project - http://www.myscienceproject.org
One of the more interesting sites that I've encountered - I'm not quite sure who these guys are, but they are willing to do whatever it takes to answer your questions. Quite a few jello shot experiments and a few others to boot.

Wikihow - http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Jello-Shots
They tell you how to do just about everything, so of course they are going to help you out with jello shots. Lots of instructions, flavor combination suggestions and a video from the friendly folks at "bar camp."
