Eating Jello Shots

Posted on: June 15, 2009

Eating jello shots is even more fun than making jello shots! From dainty to getting down and dirty, there are a few different ways that you can dig into these little cups of jello-y goodness. When it comes down to it, just do it!

Spoon it
Definitely the most dainty approach to eating jello shots and generally looked down upon at more roudy gatherings. If your shindig calls for a more dignified approach, try to find smaller spoons that will easily fit your cups.

Use a tool
Don't be a tool, just use one! Even if you don't have a spoon, you can still get a little help by using a toothpick, a swizzle stick, or even a pretzel stick to run around the edge of your jello shot before eating. The advantage to this method is that you tend to get the most bang for your buck by getting the most jello out of your cup.

Give it a little squeeze
Everyone needs a little squeeze every once in a while, even your jello shot! When squeezing, be sure to squeeze from the bottom to get the most jello into your mouth.

With that said, this method will only work with with paper or plastic cups. If you're really into squeezing, consider EZ-squeeze cups, designed exclusively for this purpose.

Stick your finger in it
Are you good with your hands? If the answer is yes, just use your finger to free your jello. If the answer is no, you obviously need more practice so use your finger anyway! Extra points for licking your fingers clean when you're done.

Use your tongue
It's the strongest muscle in your body, so it's time to put it to good use. With a little practice, this could be the sexiest way to eat your jello. Just run your tongue around the edge of your jello shot and shoot it down. It keeps your fingers clean and your mouth happy!

Let it rip!
When all else fails, just rip open your cup and eat it with your hands. This is by far the messiest way to go about things, but sometimes that's half the fun! This definitely works best with paper cups and because of the way that the jello sticks and sometimes is the only way to deal with paper cups.
