Creepy Crawler Jello Shots

Creepy Crawler Jello Shots - do I really need to explain this one? Nothing will bring out the kid in you this Halloween more than getting buzzed off of eating Jello and Gummy Worms. Although they take a little prep work, these are great for parties (unless it's a more sophisticated party) because they are already to go which means that you can spend more time with your friends and less time making and shaking drinks. How many other ways are there to spell fun in a cup!

Notes from Jello Diva - There is always the question of "What flavor of Jello should I choose?" This depends as much upon your personal preference as it may depend upon the theme of your party.

Personally, if you are making Creepy Crawler Jello shots for Halloween, I would aim for something dark red in color- It works well because it kind of looks like blood or at least a little dark and forboding. Try black cherry as something that will come out a little darker than regular cherry or even one package of black cherry mixed with regular cherry. If you want it darker still, consider using black vodka or adding a little blue food coloring to red jello. Feel free to experiment and get creative. Otherwise, green is a good choice too - it reminds people of slime and works well if most of your worms are red in color.

How to make Creepy Crawler Jello Shots

Start by measuring a cup of boiling water into a large glass measuring cup. Dissolve 1 package of jello (3 oz) for about 2 minutes. Add 3/4 cup of Vodka and 1/4 cup of cold water and stir well. Cool until the liquid is about room temperature (so that you don't melt your cups). Then, pour the liquid into individual jello shot cups. Garnish with a gummy worm or two in each cup and chill until firm.

This recipe makes about 16 shots - adjust as needed for your party. For more notes from Jello Diva, see How to Make Jello Shots.

Enjoy responsibly with friends!
